Residential, cooking, and ceremonial burn permits are issued on the following terms and conditions and proposed purposes stated herein:
RESIDENTIAL burning shall be permitted from 10:00 am until sunset.
ONLY NATURAL VEGETATION SHALL BE BURNED. The fire shall not contain any rubber products, asphalt products, petroleum products, plastics, garbage, dead animals or any other waste material.
Persons and equipment capable of extinguishing the fire shall be on the burn site and in attendance at all times.
This permit may be revoked at any time by the Chief of the Fire Department. The violation of, or failure to comply with all Eastside Fire & Rescue and Puget Sound Clean Air Agency regulations, shall be subject to penalty.
Definition: Residential burning means small outdoor fires consisting of leaves, clippings, pruning, and other yard and gardening refuse origination on lands immediately adjacent and in close proximity to the dwelling where the property owner lives.
Conditions of residential burning:
Fire is on applicant's residential property.
Pile of burning material shall not be larger than 4 x 4 x 3 feet.
Only one pile shall be burned at any one time.
Burn permit shall be at the site while burning.
There shall be no burning within 50' (100' diameter) of any fences, trees, structures, or other combustible materials.
Eastside Fire & Rescue shall assume no responsibility for damages to property or injury to persons resulting from a fire conducted pursuant to this permit or the inspection or extinguishment of such a fire. Applicant shall release the District and its officers. employees and agents from any damages or injuries suffered by the applicant or the applicant's property as a result of a fire conducted pursuant to this permit. Applicant further shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless the District and its officers, employees or agents from any claims, damages, liability, losses and cost resulting from a fire conducted pursuant to this permit or the inspection or extinguishment of such a fire.
A SEASONAL MORATORIUM ON OUTDOOR BURNING WILL BE IMPOSED FROM JUNE 15 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30 OF EACH YEAR.
