Flooding on the Snoqualmie River can be estimated by measuring the number of cubic feet of water flowing by a fixed point every second (CFS). Referencing the river gauge near Snoqualmie, the following flow rates result in the following flooding thresholds.

Once the flooding stage has been reached, the severity of the flood is expressed in Phases. The range of phases is from 1-4, with a Phase 4 flood being the worst. The river flows that define the four Phases of a flood and the degree of flooding to be expected is shown in the table below.
